There are layers of confusion in the issues surrounding the activities of ‘Protesters’ this week in Toronto, least of which is their designation as protesters.
I cast a ballot to elect who I wanted to represent me during meetings like the G8 and the G20. Such meetings being necessary to solve many of the problems that face the world today. Each of the leaders present at these meetings came to be there through the same democratic process. So I see these ‘protests’ as acts against my  choice, acts that I resent, and acts that are outside of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. These are not protesters, they are vandals and arsonists, perhaps assailants as well. Some are self-described anarchists too.

The legitimate groups that are there to “protest” are really there to draw attention to their concerns, not actually protest the work these leaders are trying to do .. that often being on behalf of these same groups. Unfortunately the legitimate groups are having their agendas hijacked by treasonist criminals.
Our police have become so humane, now employ so many non-lethal means of controlling individuals, that the criminals see no risk, and indeed there is very little, in confrontation with police. We as a society need to come down far more severely on such individuals and remind everyone there is a democratic process at work here, and challenging that should carry severe consequences.

Let’s take the entire cost of security and property repair and place it squarely on the heads of anyone convicted of a crime related to these ‘protests’.  Sounds like it’ll be about a thousand or so people by the time all is said and done. $100,000,000.00 divided by 1000 anarchists is about a million apiece. Start a mortgage and let’em pay it off over the next 25 years or so. The concept of ‘you break it you buy it’ is widely known, so let’s apply that here. Extracting $5000.00 a month from their lifestyle should slow them down a little …
